    Trying to capture Barred Owl

I'm looking for tips, insight, or anybody who has successfully captured a barred owl on a camera trap. I have an owl who makes nightly visits to the backyard and I can capture him with a telephoto lens, but I would like to get him to land on a set.

He will land on random branches and poles, never the same place twice. Photo included is not with a camera trap.

Camera trapping an animal that does not have a defined pattern of activity is going to be tough. Maybe set some of his favorite food on the above birdhouse?

Beautiful bird is it unusual to see them in daylight hours?
